Full Circle Collaborates With UGA To Help Young Designers Learn About Sustainability

Full Circle Real Estate Group and J.W. York Homes are collaborating with a UGA LEED-Certified Instructor to help the next generation of designers appreciate sustainability.

Broker Patrick O'Brien and Agent Michael Littleton, along with builder Jared York, recently introduced The Cottages at Hilltop, Athens' only sustainable-concept community, to UGA Assistant Professor Megan Lee and her interior design class.

The class will design a 1,400 to 1,800 sq ft, 3BR/2BA spec home for the development this fall that incorporates sustainable principles and follows LEED for Homes guidelines.

The project is designed to help students learn about the benefits of building sustainable, energy-efficient homes.

"This project gives talented design students a valuable opportunity to take the sustainability principles they have learned in the classroom and apply them in a real world development scenario," said Mr. O'Brien. "From a marketing perspective, it is important that a home be sustainable and efficient in ways that can be seen and touched by the home owner, as well as those that can’t. Interior Designers of the future will play a key role in that presentation."

Stay tuned for updates on this project over the next couple of months. For more information on The Cottages at Hilltop, CLICK HERE.
