Donations Needed for September 11th Bike Drive
Bicycles For Humanity Georgia and BikeAthens are teaming up to collect second hand bikes to redistribute to individuals in need in Athens, Georgia and Namibia, southern Africa. The Bike Drive will be held on Saturday, September 11th, from 10am to 3pm at Oneta suite 6E3, adjacent to the Chase Park Warehouses. For directions please visit www.onetaspace.com.
Bicycles For Humanity Georgia (B4H Georgia) is a non-profit organization with a
mission to empower individuals to improve their quality of life by transferring mobility through the use of bicycles. B4H Georgia will be collecting mountain and all-terrain bicycles to load into a 40-foot shipping container and send to communities in Namibia.
Once the container is on the ground, it becomes a sustainable bicycle workshop, where members from the community will then have greater access to health care, education, and employment.
BikeAthens’ Bicycle Recycling program is a cooperative venture with local social
support agencies to distribute reconditioned bikes to individuals in the Athens community who are underserved by private and public transportation. BikeAthens relies exclusively on volunteers to recondition these bicycles. On September 11th, BikeAthens will be collecting road bikes to recondition and distribute to individuals in Athens in need of a bicycle for daily transportation. For more information on BikeAthens, please visit www.bikeathens.com.
With the understanding of the profound impact that a bike can have on the life of a
person living in poverty, B4H Georgia and BikeAthens are looking forward to the
Saturday, September 11th Bike Drive at Oneta suite 6E3 & the Chase Park Warehouses off of Prince Avenue. For more information on this event, please visit
