Let's Grow Some Grass

Now that it finally feels like Fall around here, it's time to think about what you should be doing in your yard to keep your home looking beautiful thru the Winter. Particularly if you have your home on the market now, make sure you take these steps to keep it looking pretty for potential buyers.
Georgia Organics offers this grass-growin' tip: Cool season grasses like fescues should be overseeded in the Fall, ideally at the same time you aerate. Cut the grass then rake hard to remove any debris. Sow seed over the existing grass and rake gentlly. Apply an organic fertilizer and water it well. When the grass reaches 3 to 4 inches, cut it again.
To keep things blooming, plant your Fall flowers now. Mack Furlow, owner of a great local nursery, Seasonal Color Greenhouses , said October is the best time to plant Pansies, Snapdragons, Violas and other Fall annuals.
